Why is bamboo toilet paper more eco-friendly?

Did you know that the amount of toilet paper Canadians use annually stretched out would be like driving across the Trans-Canada Highway 38 times from start to finish?!  Isn’t that crazy?  Sadly, over one million acres of the Canadian boreal forest is clearcut every year, much of which is used towards the creation of toilet paper!

Reducing household waste

Canadians produce more than 36.5 million tonnes of waste annually!  That’s approximately the weight of 202, 778 blue whales.  Unfortunately, only 26% of this waste is recycled and the rest ends up in landfills, at incineration plants, or in our natural environment.

Are you spending a fortune on groceries?  Do you find that much of the food you purchase ends up in the garbage?  You’re NOT alone!  In fact, the ‘National Zero Waste Council’ research states that Canadians throw out almost 2.3 million tonnes of eatable food annually!  This adds up to almost $20 billion.

So, what are some ways that you can lower your monthly grocery bill and waste less food?
